Ray Austin Crooke (1922-2015), Original oil painting on board. This is a nice sized piece titled "Abandoned House" so typical of Crookes work in outback Australia, Signed by Ray Crooke in the lower left side and beautifully framed in white and gold. In excellent condition and a collectors piece at a very affordable price.

Bio
Ray Austin Crooke was born in 1922, Melbourne Victoria. He is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most popular artists, His distinctive paintings of the South Seas, Fijian islands and their inhabitants are renowned for their bold colour and tranquil imagery. The water and the unspoiled culture of the islands and their people are masterfully captured in these vibrant island landscapes.
In 1969, Crooke won The Archibald Prize for his Portrait of George Johnston.
