Kevin Charles (Pro) Hart, (1928 - 2006). An extra large original oil painting on canvas on board by an Australian iconic art legend. This is a exceptional example of Pro Harts' waterbird series using vibrant earthy colours in traditional Pro Hart format. This is one of the nicest swamp scenes we have seen, full of colour and activity. Titled 'Waterbirds - 3' (Circa 1982), the artwork has been signed lower right 'Pro Hart' and has the original label verso for Wagner Art Gallery, Paddington. Stock code: 560PH82. Inscribed notation 'Exhibition Hong Kong 1984'. The frame is the traditional 1980's antique gold frame with olive cloth trim. Both the painting and frame are in excellent condition. Provenance: Private collector NSW. A very nice large Pro Hart at a very affordable price.
David Hart writes "The paintings in Pro’s waterbirds series are reminiscent of his time growing up and exploring the Darling River while on family trips. They capture the tranquility of the moment that exists despite the liveliness and movement within the piece. The contrast of the softness of the birds and water with the harshness of the bush landscape is truly breathtaking."

Bio
Kevin Charles "Pro" Hart, MBE (30 May 1928 – 28 March 2006), was an Australian artist, born in Broken Hill, New South Wales, who was considered the father of the Australian Outback painting movement and his works are widely admired for capturing the true spirit of the outback. He grew up on his family's sheep farm in Menindee, New South Wales and was nicknamed "Professor" (hence "Pro") during his younger days, when he was known as an inventor.
