This really is an impressive, large, historic and very unique original artwork by Kevin Charles (Pro) Hart (1928 - 2006). An expansive oil painting on canvas by one of Australia's most beloved outback artists. The painting is titled 'The British Mine' (1982), signed and dated lower right 'Pro Hart' and titled lower left. The artwork depicts the British Mine (formed in 1887) and its workers in Broken Hill, NSW in the early 20th Century. Stretched, keyed, documented verso and beautifully framed in black with an internal beach wood frame. This really is a showpiece artwork from one of the greatest. Provenance: Private collector WA. Both the artwork and the frame are in excellent condition. A beautifully sized piece for the discerning art collector of both art and history.

Bio
Kevin Charles "Pro" Hart, MBE (30 May 1928 – 28 March 2006), was an Australian artist, born in Broken Hill, New South Wales, who was considered the father of the Australian Outback painting movement and his works are widely admired for capturing the true spirit of the outback. He grew up on his family's sheep farm in Menindee, New South Wales and was nicknamed "Professor" (hence "Pro") during his younger days, when he was known as an inventor.
