Bio
Kenneth William David Jack AM MBE RWS, (5 October 1924 – 10 June 2006) was an Australian watercolour artist who specialised in painting the images of an almost forgotten outback life: old mine workings, ghost towns, decaying farm buildings.
Kenneth Jack's drawings are heavily influenced by the grandeur, color, and rhythms of the Australian landscape in which he lived. Though he completed a drawing teacher's certificate before WWII broke out, Jack found himself in the Royal Australian Air Force where he published his first works of art. During that time, he produced an amazing 500 or so pieces. Kenneth Jack's artwork was predominantly in acrylic, the new medium of the time in the 1960s, and then in 1970s, he began to favor watercolor. Kenneth Jack's drawings and paintings of seascapes show a stunning use of color and light. In the 1950s, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London purchased some of Kenneth Jack's abstract prints, and he went on to win multiple prizes for his work. Capture the awe-inspiring beauty or fury of Mother Nature with dramatic seascape drawings available online and at auction.
