One the finest large original paintings on canvas from this highly renowned Australian bush artist, John Guy (1944-2000). Titled 'New Diggers' (Myrtleford, Victoria,1885) from the gold series, this collectible artwork is signed lower right 'GUY' and titled, dated (031/85) and signed verso. Beautifully framed in it's original 1980's antique gold frame with cream cloth trim and gold inlay. The artwork is in excellent condition, stretched and ready to hang. A wonderful piece of Australiana to add to you art collection. Provenance: Private collection Adelaide, SA.

Bio
Born in Launceston, Tasmania in 1944, John Guy was an Australian Postwar & Contemporary painter. He worked as a commercial artist, film producer and newspaper executive prior to 1976 when he became a full-time artist. A painter of stylised bush and historical works he exhibited widely in Queensland and in Sydney.
