David John Voigt (Australian, b. 1944), original acrylic on canvas painting, signed lower right and titled 'Stone Country Reflected ' (2003) by one of Australia's best regarded local artists. A finalist in the Wynn prize, this vibrant Geometric artwork exudes personality. In a blend of colours, shapes and natural elements David creates vivid abstract artworks. Finished in a black and gold frame, the artwork is in excellent condition. Note: This is one of two pieces on offer, Please see the other matching David Voight artwork. Bio
David John Voigt is an Australian Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1944. After completing his studies at the National Art School in 1968, David Voigt spent several years travelling and living in Europe, whilst undertaking a residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, before returning to Australia in late 1972.
Since that time, he has exhibited and maintained a professional practice. A finalist in many art awards, Voigt won the Blake Prize twice (1976, 1981) and the prestigious Wynne Prize (1981). His works are represented in public, corporate and private collections world-wide, notably, the National Gallery of Australia (NGA), Artbank, HSBC, IBM Australia, and Telstra.
