There are few Australian artists more loved from the 20th Century than Doyle and this piece speaks volumes to his quality and style. An expansive original oil painting on board by renowned Australian artist D'Arcy Doyle (1932-2001). This large investment artwork from the Queensland series, is titled 'Hopscotch' and is signed 'd'Arcy W. Doyle' lower right. It features a traditional country scene of children playing in a driveway with Church and Queenslander in the background and Jacarandas. The piece is in excellent condition with its original 1980's mottled gold frame with double internal white cloth trim and gold inlay. Provenance: Private collector Queensland, purchased direct from the artist. It is extremely rare to find a piece of this magnitude by d'Arcy Doyle and of this quality.

Bio
D'Arcy Doyle was an Australian Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1932. He created many wistful images of his homeland Australia, and, in particular, scenes depicting the Australian outback. D'Arcy W. Doyle's artwork was painted in a realist style, and often contained scenes of children playing outside and rural images of people working the land. He started out creating murals and signs, yet artist D'Arcy W. Doyle had no formal training before embarking on a successful career as full-time artist.
