D'Arcy Doyle (1932-2001), Large original oil painting on canvas on board and titled 'Swagman and his Dog' is signed 'D'Arcy W. Doyle' lower right. The really stunning piece is in excellent condition with its original cream and gold gilded double frame. There are few Australian artists more loved from the 20th Century than Doyle and this piece speaks volumes to his quality and style. Provenance: Purchased from Morpeth Gallery.

Bio
D'Arcy Doyle was an Australian Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1932. He created many wistful images of his homeland Australia, and, in particular, scenes depicting the Australian outback. D'Arcy W. Doyle's artwork was painted in a realist style, and often contained scenes of children playing outside and rural images of people working the land. He started out creating murals and signs, yet artist D'Arcy W. Doyle had no formal training before embarking on a successful career as full-time artist.
