An expansive original oil painting on board by renowned Australian artist D'Arcy Doyle (1932-2001). This large investment artwork is titled 'Resting Swagman & His Dog' and is signed 'd'Arcy W. Doyle' lower right. The piece is in excellent condition with its original 1970's dark bronze wood and cloth frame. It is rare to find a piece from the Swagman series of this magnitude by d'Arcy Doyle. Provenance: Private collector Melbourne VIC

Bio
D'Arcy Doyle was an Australian Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1932. He created many wistful images of his homeland Australia, and, in particular, scenes depicting the Australian outback. D'Arcy W. Doyle's artwork was painted in a realist style, and often contained scenes of children playing outside and rural images of people working the land. He started out creating murals and signs, yet artist D'Arcy W. Doyle had no formal training before embarking on a successful career as full-time artist.
