Aldo Bon Amber and Red Sommerso Murano Glass Fish 35.5cm
Aldo Bon, circa 1950. In a stunning combination of red glass encased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed Sommerso technique. Made by the Vetreria Artigiana Aldo Bon factory, and still Bears factory paper label 'Murano A. Bon' for Vetreria Artigiana Aldo Bon Factory. Aldo Bon was previously a master glassblower at Aureliano Toso where he produced designs by Dino Martens. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.

Bio
Dino Martens (1894–1970) was an Italian painter and designer particularly noted for his glass work. He became the artistic director of Aureliano Toso (the famous Venetian glass works) in1938. He remained there for many years producing many noted works using traditional Venetian techniques but producing some original effects, “daring” asymmetric shapes - the designs often being marked by their obvious difficulty of execution His designs are famous for the use of patches of Aventurine, filigree canes, Latticino/Zanfirico, and multicoloured murrines
