One of Pro Harts most popular and iconic images was his grasshoppers from his insect series (Dragonfly, ants, grasshoppers). This is a really outstanding example titled 'The Grasshoppers' (circa 1980) and signed lower right 'Pro Hart'. Very rich, vibrant colours in traditional Pro Hart format with thicker impasto on parts. The artwork is titled verso and framed is a traditional 1980's mottled antique gold frame with internal gold trim and off-white double frame. The painting is in excellent condition. Highly sought after, so be quick!

Bio
Kevin Charles "Pro" Hart, MBE (30 May 1928 – 28 March 2006), was an Australian artist, born in Broken Hill, New South Wales, who was considered the father of the Australian Outback painting movement and his works are widely admired for capturing the true spirit of the outback. He grew up on his family's sheep farm in Menindee, New South Wales and was nicknamed "Professor" (hence "Pro") during his younger days, when he was known as an inventor.
